writer. mama. partner. digital nomad. unschooling activist.

As an unschooling speaker, I work with intentional learning spaces, families, and individuals to DESCHOOL, so they can discover, define, and embrace their own identities.

Shedding the programming and habits that resulted from other people’s agency over your time, body, thoughts, or actions. Designing and practicing beliefs that align with your desire to thrive, be happy, and succeed.

I amplify and connect the voices of people and communities pushing back against normalized institutional racism, and participate in creating and broadening the spaces where we can thrive as ourselves—whether mainstream society understands us or not. Besides sharing the Raising Free People message to a full TEDx audience, previous keynotes include Homeschool Association of California (HSC) 2018 Conference, AERO (Alternative Education Resource Organization)2017 Conference, The Black Women’s Life Balance & Wellness Conference at Spelman College, and Jamaica’s first Young Motherhood Wellness conference at the historic Devon House in Kingston. I’ve facilitated interactive workshops and discussions at writing intensives, wellness retreats, webinars, and self-directed learning communities throughout the U.S. (Georgia, North Carolina, Arizona, California) and in Johannesburg, Durban, and Soweto, South Africa, for Self-Directed learning spaces, and for homeschooling co-ops and communities. I’ve appeared on NBC TV, NPR, CBC Radio, and in several print publications, including Essence, Real Simple, Hold the Line, and Rosemary Magazines. I also write things for, and share things with, interesting people and publications, including Mater Mea, My Brown Baby, Mutha Magazine, and The Alliance for Self-Directed Education’s celebrated online magazine, Tipping Points.
